My web development and Internet marketing education started in 2006, when I grew tired of a phone-sales intensive job and began experimenting with improving the company website and generating leads from it in order to augment my sales. Apparently I had more of an aptitude for web development and Internet marketing than phone sales. Zuffnuff has been going strong for ten years.
I’m a certified Google Partner, which means that Google will actually refer me business because I’ve passed a bunch of their tests, manage large ad budgets, and pass key performance metrics in my Adwords accounts.
For the last two years, I have been a guest lecturer for marketing classes at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Technology moves so fast that what I teach isn’t in the textbooks. (If it were the textbooks would be out of date by the time they print!)
Zuffnuff calls both Boulder, Colorado and Saint Paul, Minnesota home base, though the “office” is anywhere we have Internet access. My better half, Stephanie, helps with graphics and website design. She also manages many of our projects. And she keeps me organized.
When I’m away from my computer I’m usually found on my bicycle, riding up a mountain, or analyzing my cycling data on power output, pedal cadence, heart rate, elevation gain and other geeky cycling data, or writing about cycling and The Joy of Bike.
And the name Zuffnuff? Years ago one of Stephanie’s young daughters had trouble pronouncing my last name, Zuhlsdorf. She called me Zuffnuff. The name stuck.
